Officials Reevaluate Dangerous Intersection After Second Fatal Crash in Sedgwick County

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Sedgwick County officials are once again turning their attention to the intersection of 135th Street West and 29th Street North, following a second fatal crash at the location in just three years.

This week, 42-year-old Tiffany Jones of Wichita died after authorities say she failed to stop at the intersection and crashed into another vehicle carrying a woman and three children. All four passengers were transported to the hospital in critical condition. Investigators confirmed that Jones was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The incident echoes a tragic event from 2022, when Sedgwick County Deputy Sidnee Carter was killed in a crash at the same intersection. In that case, the other driver also failed to stop and was found to be under the influence of medical marijuana…
