WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Changes to Wichita Police Department policy after a man accused of causing a crash that killed a 14-year-old boy was able to walk away from the hospital.
It prompted a city-wide search. The crash last week left Jackson Nzabonimpa dead on his first day in high school.
The suspect, Gauge Brasher, was initially arrested but later released to receive medical care in the hospital. Officers left the hospital around 12:30 a.m., and about half an hour later, the hospital said Brasher had left.
