MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE (KSNW) — McConnell Air Force Base has completed a $10 million project to expand and renovate its Child Development Center, giving more families access to on-base childcare.
The two-year project added six classrooms, raising capacity to 268 children and cutting the waitlist to fewer than 20 families. Updates also included new paint and tile, a redesigned kitchen and lobby, and a full deep clean of the facility.

“We want to make sure our people feel safe,” Sheree Claudio, child and youth programs flight chief, said in a news release. “By having them on base and providing them reliable, quality care, we are able to make our families feel safer.”
In a statement, Maj. Latisha Cannon, 22nd Force Support Squadron commander, said the expansion shows the base’s commitment to supporting families.
