Seasonably warm temperatures take us through Friday.
Highs will favor the nineties before a major temperature swing.
A rather strong cold front will track south by Saturday morning. It will spark scattered showers and storms after 7 PM Friday to the northwest.
One or two could initially be strong to severe with damaging winds and hail.
Deeper into the overnight, this activity will track farther east and weaken.
Scattered showers will remain on Saturday, shifting focus to the southern half of the state as the front keeps pushing southward.
Highs on Saturday will drop to the 80s. We will have more 70s in the north on Sunday and the 80s in the south.
Another batch of scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible Sunday into Monday.
Depending on how far south the front goes early next week, it will draw attention to our western and especially our southwestern counties for renewed opportunities for showers and a few rumbles. If this dives too far south, it could rob us from rain.
Areas southwest will benefit the most from what this unsettled pattern brings us over the next week.
We will all enjoy a huge cooldown. Highs next week will be in the 60s and 70s. Overnight lows will range from the 50s to the 60s. An early taste of fall and an unusual way to end August and kickoff September is coming for Kansas!
