Storm Track 3 Forecast: Unsettled pattern takes hold, fall-like temps next week

A cold front is inching closer to the area.  We have another seasonable day in the 90s before the heat dials back.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will approach the northwest later this evening.

While a storm or two could be strong to severe for damaging winds and hail, this activity will lose a lot of its strength once it enters our viewing area through the overnight.

This batch will track to the east/southeast shifting from the northern half of the state to the south into Saturday, remaining as hit or miss showers.

Highs for Saturday will be in the 70s and 80s.

Waves of scattered showers and storms will keep tracking across the area late this weekend into next week.

Activity on Sunday revs up over our western counties and slides to the east/southeast into Sunday night.

There is a Marginal Risk for a couple of these storms posing a risk for damaging winds and hail over Western Kansas.

Sunday’s highs will be below the norm in the 70s and 80s.

Due to remaining clouds and off-on chances for rain, aided by another reinforcing shot of cooler air, highs next week will be in the 60s and 70s.  Overnight lows will begin to favor more 50s!
