Soaking rain Wednesday & Thursday across Kansas

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – It is a chilly start to the day with wake-up temperatures in the 50s. Later today underneath a mix of sun and clouds, highs will top-out in the upper 70s which is warmer than Monday but still 10 to 15 degrees below normal.

Another storm system will sweep across the state on Wednesday and Thursday. While showers and storms may show up as early as late tonight across western Kansas, most of the rain in the Wichita area will fall between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. While heavy rain is a concern, perhaps one to two inches of rainfall, severe weather is not expected.

Quiet weather with a warming trend is expected as we head into the holiday weekend. Highs in the 70s on Friday should rebound into the lower to middle 80s Saturday, Sunday, and Labor Day.
