Areas of heavy rain through Thursday

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Slow moving and steady rainfall will setup across Kansas through Thursday, and some areas will pickup over 2 inches by the time it ends. While no severe weather is expected, flooding is a threat over south central and southeast Kansas.

Expect the rain to start in western Kansas early Wednesday before spreading east by early afternoon. The thick clouds and rain will keep highs in the upper 60s and low 70s around most of the state. The rain should get heavier Wednesday night for areas south of I-70, and it will continue through early Thursday.

Friday will start drying off with highs in the mid to upper 70s. The chance for scattered storms over the holiday weekend will reside over far western Kansas, but those are unlikely to be severe…
