Wichita woman convicted in shooting death of son

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A Wichita woman was convicted of killing her son. According to court documents filed Aug. 25, Tesha Florence entered a no contest plea to murder in the second degree of her 16-year-old son, Robert Florence.

Florence was found shot inside an apartment in the 9100 block of E. Harry on Oct. 9, 2024. He died two days later on Oct. 11.

Florence also entered a plea of no contest to aggravated burglary and aggravated assault. Police learned that she had allegedly forced her way into her ex-husband’s home and pointed a gun at his girlfriend. It happened in March of 2024 according to a probable cause affidavit.

Sentencing for Florence is scheduled for Oct. 17 at 1:30 p.m…
