Sentencing day for Kan. knife attack after 2-vehicle car crash

SEDGWICK COUNTY —A Kansas man accused in a violent knife attack will learn his fate Friday afternoon.

Judge Quentin Pitman will sentence 38-year-old Julian Gonzalez of Newton.

In July, a jury found him guilty of attempted murder in the 1st degree, aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated endangering a child, and criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s office…
