Wichita prepares for Phase 3 of downtown paid parking plan

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The third and final phase of Wichita’s paid parking plan begins on September 2. New kiosks will be installed on city streets, requiring drivers to enter their license plate numbers and pay for parking at the machines or online.

On the street, parking is $1 per hour unless “event parking” rates apply. Parking lot rates are similar at $1 per hour, up to $5 for five or more hours.

Rates will be enforced between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday. Outside of these hours, parking will be free…
