Large hail, damaging winds march through central, south-central Kansas Wednesday evening

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – As storms moved through central Kansas on Wednesday, several of you started sending pictures of the hail.

Viewers sent in photos that showed hailstones the size of golf balls and ping pong balls. Some shared videos of the large hail pounding on vehicles and buildings in the area.

The storm caused some damage to vehicles, as we received photos of shattered windshields and sunroofs caused by the varying sizes of hail.

In Marion County, residents reported that a portion of the Elyria Christian School’s roof was blown off. The school said classes were canceled for Wednesday so storm clean up could begin.
