Free pet vaccine clinic fills up fast in Park City

PARK CITY, Kan. (KSNW) — Pet owners lined up early in Park City Saturday morning to take advantage of a free microchip and vaccine clinic hosted at Hap McLean Park.

The Kansas Humane Society, with support from Cox and Petco Love, offered 200 free vaccinations and microchips to cats and dogs on a first-come, first-served basis. The clinic reached capacity even before it officially opened.

“It’s really important for you to get your pet vaccinated just in case anything ever happens,” said Jordan Bani-Younes, director of marketing and communications at the Kansas Humane Society. “One in three pets will go missing at some point in their lives. That’s why a microchip is so important. That code is tied to your information, and that’s how we get your pet back to you.”
