The restaurant building at 2119 W. 21st St. that Noble House just vacated won’t be empty for long.
It appears that it will soon be taken over by a location of an Albuquerque-based birria restaurant called Birria Estilo Zacatecas that offers birria tacos, birria ramen and lots of other Mexican dishes.
The building, which Noble House left in late July, recently got a fresh coat of bright red paint and now has a “coming soon” sign attached to it. I’ve reached out to the owners of the restaurant but have not yet heard back.
Wichita’s restaurant will be the sixth in the chain, and it appears that it will be the first Birria Estilo Zacatecas to open outside of Albuquerque, where customers give it positive online reviews. The restaurant specializes in Zacatecas-style birria, which is a slow-cooked beef stew that originated in the Mexican state of Zacatecas in north-central Mexico.
