Cold front arrives Tuesday, strong storms possible

Storm Track 3 Forecast: Cold front arrives Tuesday, strong storms possible

An isolated shower or storm is possible through sundown especially over eastern Kansas and near the Oklahoma state line. Most will remain dry. The instability created with today’s sunshine and no lid to suppress shower/storm formation could keep a few popping into the evening.

Overnight lows will fall to the 50s in the west and 60s in the east. There could be a stray shower around the Wichita Metro in the morning.

Additional pop-up showers and storms will be possible in the deeper moisture east of I-135 in the afternoon and near the Kansas/Oklahoma state line, but most will stay dry until later Tuesday.

After hitting highs in the 80s, attention will be to the west for a more robust piece of energy.

Stronger thunderstorms will develop with an uptick in severe chances to the northwest.

Large hail and damaging winds are possible as the number of storms increases early Tuesday night.

Flooding could also become a concern. This complex will keep showers and storms around into Wednesday.

Another piece of energy could drive more rain for Thursday with additional opportunities into the weekend.

High temps will drift back to the 70s once late week hits. Cooler than average temperatures will persist the remainder of the workweek and through the weekend.
