Wichita man arrested after bicyclist dies in hit-and-run accident; victim identified

A 21-year-old Wichita man has been arrested after a 57-year-old man on a bicycle was killed in a hit-and-run accident, according to officials and an arrest report.

Daniel Forshey of Wichita died at the scene of the wreck, which happened shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday at Murdock and Broadway. Forshey had been riding a bicycle east on Murdock when he was hit by a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500, which was also headed east, police said. Forshey was pronounced deceased at 9:11 p.m.

The suspect was arrested in the 11000 block of East Kellogg, about 9 miles away from the accident site, on suspicion of failure to stop at an accident that resulted in death, arrest records show.
