Evergy explains plans with another rate hike

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Starting next month, Evergy will raise its rates by an average of $8 to $9 per month for homeowners. This marks the second permanent rate increase since the utility’s formation in 2018 from the merger between KCP&L and Westar Energy.

Evergy spokesperson Gina Penzig explained that Evergy is increasing its rates to make up for infrastructure costs.
