Family holds vigil for Cedric Lofton four years after teen’s in-custody death

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A vigil was held Saturday night to remember the life of Cedric Lofton, who died four years ago while in custody of the Juvenile Intake Assessment Center in Wichita.

Friends and family gathered outside that same facility on the day they would have been celebrating Cedric’s birthday.

The ceremony included memorial candles, poems, and a group prayer. Lofton’s brother, Marquan Teetz, tied a shirt that belonged to Lofton to a pole outside the facility, replacing a worn shirt that was hung there two years ago…
