Wichita’s only remaining Golden Corral restaurant — at 616 S. Ridge Road — has been closed all week, and one reader who contacted me assumed it was closed for good.
After all, the last time a Golden Corral shut down in Wichita, it was permanent: The eastside restaurant at 11006 E. Kellogg closed during the pandemic in 2020 and never reopened. That building now is home to a location of DriveTime Used Cars.
But the westside restaurant should be back, and perhaps very soon. Though the phone at the Ridge Road Golden Corral goes straight to a busy signal when called, a worker outside of the restaurant said that it’s undergoing a remodeling and should reopen soon. He said that the restaurant closed for the remodel on Monday and should be back quickly — possibly as soon as Saturday.
I’ve reached out to Golden Corral corporate and to the Wichita franchisee for confirmation and more information but have not heard anything back yet…
