Authorities seek inmate who did not return to work release facility

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Authorities are looking for a minimum security inmate who they say did not return from his work release job on Friday.

Kevin Vester was placed on escape status at about 6:30 p.m. after not returning to the facility from his work release job, the Kansas Department of Corrections said in a news release.

Officials describe Vesters as a 55-year-old African male. He is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds, with a slim build.

“He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing black pants, a royal blue shirt with white writing on the front, black shoes, and a black cap with a white image and a blue bill. He is known to wear a black do-rag under his cap,” the release stated…
