Infamous serial killer Dennis Rader, known as the “BTK Killer” for his self-coined method of “Bind, Torture, Kill,” continues to serve his sentence behind bars at the El Dorado Correctional Facility in Kansas. Rader is currently serving 10 consecutive life sentences, with a minimum of 175 years before he would be eligible for parole.
Rader, 80, who terrorized the Wichita area from 1974 to 1991, pleaded guilty to the murders of ten people in 2005. Due to his crimes occurring before the state of Kansas reinstated the death penalty in 1994, he was spared capital punishment. He remains a maximum-security inmate in the Kansas Department of Corrections system.
