WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Spirit AeroSystems is promising to hire an additional 600 workers by the end of the year, following Wichita’s agreement to extend the company’s property tax exemptions until 2030.
When the original agreement began in 2019, Spirit vowed to hire 320 full-timers, but the company failed to meet that minimum following the downturn in the aviation industry during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the grounding of the 737 Max after two crashes killed hundreds of people.
