Maize school leaders consider new safety measures after loaded gun incident at high school

Maize school leaders are taking a closer look at safety weeks after police found a loaded gun in a student’s backpack at Maize High.

On September 11th, Maize school leaders launched a safety survey. More than 1800 parents, staff, and high school students responded sharing how safe they feel and what changes they want to see.

The results, more than 70%, said new measures could make schools feel safer, including permanent weapons detection systems at school entrances…
