WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Harvey County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to KSN on Thursday that human remains found Oct. 1 in a farm field have possibly been identified.
Sheriff Chad Gay said several people came forward believing that the remains found in a hayfield on Hillside Road southeast of Newton belonged to a loved one who had disappeared from Wichita several months ago.

The sheriff said the family has provided DNA samples that will be compared to the man’s to positively identify him. Still, he believes with a high degree of confidence that the remains belong to the missing man.
