Scattered showers today – getting windy

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A cold front will bring some potential of showers across south-central and southeast Kansas, however the remainder of the state will remain dry, cooler and windy behind the passing front.

For those that don’t see rain this weekend,will be quite windy. Especially this afternoon with gusts approaching 45 m.p.h.

Cooler temperatures continue to filter in over the next few days. Today highs will be in the 60s and 70s, and Sunday looks just a tad cooler. Western Kansas may have frost during the overnight and early morning Sunday, but a killing freeze will be limited to counties along the Kansas/Colorado state-line. A frost advisory is in effect across portions of Western Kansas from 9pm tonight until 10am MDT Sunday.

Another cold front will arrive early next week, but it won’t have much in the way of moisture as it passes through Kansas.
