Fire causes extensive damage to Wichita home

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A Wichita home is unlivable following a fire on Wednesday. It happened around 3:45 a.m. in the 100 block of S. Minneapolis, just south of Douglas near Interstate 135.

The Wichita Fire Department arrived to find flames coming through the roof of the home. Crews entered the house, but the fire was so intense that they had to withdraw.

“Put some water on it from the outside,” WFD Capt. Casey Hauschild said. “After we darkened it down, we were able to push back in and make sure our primary searches were clear. We found no victims inside.”…
