The calm before the storm today; storms arriving tonight

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Our next weather maker arrives later today. This slow-moving system will bring widespread rain and storms to the state tonight through Saturday morning. While severe weather is unlikely, heavy, soaking rain is a safe bet, especially across south central Kansas where 1-2 inches of rainfall is expected.

After warming into the middle to upper 70s on Wednesday, today will be a few degrees cooler. However, high temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s keep us above average for late October.

After the rain showers exit south central Kansas on Saturday morning, the remainder of the weekend will be dry but dreary. Mainly cloudy skies both Saturday and Sunday will keep afternoon temperatures in the upper 50s and lower 60s…
