Most rain wraps up tonight, cool clouds Sunday

Low pressure nearby to our south continues to spin showers through the area. They have mainly been light this afternoon but there have been a few embedded moderate showers.

Even though showers will last through the evening, there will not be as many due to low pressure beginning to shift away from us. Cloud cover will continue to hold strong.

Temperatures during the warmest part of the afternoon were mainly in the 50s. Overnight lows in Central Kansas will not fall too far from afternoon highs while Western Kansas dips down to the 40s.

Even though there will not be as much rainfall overnight, conditions will still be hazardous. Dense fog is expected to begin to develop to the north and west this evening and last through Sunday morning.

Sunday’s skies will be much drier. There is a small chance for a lingering shower or sprinkle in Central Kansas but most of the moisture associated with this latest system will be to our east.

We will see more highs in the 60s rather than 50s Sunday afternoon. Most of the day will still be cool though.

Another system will be on the approach and could bring a shower or two to the northwest as early as Sunday night. This small chance for rain will spread into the rest of the area by Monday but most of us should be dry.

A slight chance for rain continues Monday night. Considerable cloudiness will persist too.

Any moisture in the area by Tuesday will start to shift to the east. Once we get into the middle of the week, high pressure will start to take over.

The latter part of next week is looking dry and sunny. However, trick-or-treaters Friday evening will want to have an extra layer of clothing underneath their costumes.
