The Wichita City Council and the Sedgwick County Commission held a joint meeting to discuss a potential 38 percent, or $2 million, cut in state funding for community corrections next year.
The funding provides rehabilitation services for offenders instead of jail or prison time. On average, Sedgwick County has around 1100 people in their community corrections programs, the largest in the state.
