WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Sedgwick County is celebrating this week’s decision by the Kansas Department of Corrections to freeze the funding formula for the 2026 Community Corrections Act.
Under the originally proposed formula, Sedgwick County would have seen a 38 percent decrease in funding, which county leaders had described as “devastating”.
