WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A Wichita State University building has been placed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
The Corbin Education Center, called initially the Juvenile Cultural Center, was designed by legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright shortly before his death. The Corbin Education Center and Allen-Lambe House are the only two Wright-designed structures in Kansas.
The university said the building was initially intended to be part of Wright’s Plan for Greater Baghdad. However, the 1958 military coup of the Iraqi monarchy prevented most of those designs from ever being developed…
