WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A collective of local restaurants, breweries and a distillery has raised tens of thousands of dollars for Wichita Habitat for Humanity.
Service for Change was formed in April 2024 with the goal of raising money for the nonprofit, which provides affordable, safe housing for low-income families. The group has hosted various fundraisers over the past year and collected donations from customers, raising $60,000 so far.
“The commitment and efforts of our local restaurant industry through Service for Change have been truly inspiring,” Danielle Johnson, executive director of Wichita Habitat for Humanity, said in a news release. “To see 17 businesses step up to collectively support a family in Sedgwick County, and to do so with such passion, creates a remarkable rippling effect across our entire community. It demonstrates how powerful partnership thrive when people come together for a common, vital cause — in this case, building stability and hope, one home at a time.”
