WICHITA, Kan. – A sharp wind is sweeping across the plains this morning, rattling the last of the fall leaves and signaling a quick temperature drop ahead. Saturday’s warmth is fading fast, and by Sunday, Wichita will feel a full-on November cold snap—a swing of more than 40 degrees in just 24 hours.

According to the National Weather Service in Wichita, a strong north wind will surge through south-central Kansas today, with gusts topping 30 mph as colder air races south from Nebraska. Highs will struggle to reach the low 40s on Sunday, marking one of the sharpest cool-downs so far this fall. Wind chills could dip into the 20s early, especially north of U.S. 54 and near rural open fields…
