It’s been one of Wichita’s longest-running unsolved restaurant mysteries: Will the Popeyes fried chicken restaurant promised two years ago at 21st and Amidon ever actually open?
Finally, the mystery is solved. Over the weekend, I finally heard from franchisee Abdul Hamideh, who is opening the restaurant in the former Hardee’s building at 2053 N. Amidon along with his brother, Syed Hamideh.
The two say that, barring any unforeseen obstacles, they plan to finally open the restaurant on Monday, Nov. 17. In fact, they’re planning a big banner they’ll hang outside that will read “finally open.”…
