WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A hometown hero is honoring heroes of the battlefield this week.
Eagles guitarist and Wichita native Joe Walsh brings his VetsAid benefit concert to Wichita on Saturday. On this Veterans Day, he stopped by the Dole VA to encourage and entertain men and women who gave the ultimate service to their country.
When Joe Walsh’s father died while serving in the Air Force in 1949, there were no military resources available to support 20-month-old Joe and his mother. The term “Gold Star Family” didn’t even exist yet…
