WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The Sedgwick County Jail has reported more than 121 drug-related incidents inside the facility this year, highlighting an ongoing battle against contraband that poses risks to inmates and staff.
The jail processes thousands of people annually, and drugs continue to find their way past security measures designed to keep contraband out of the facility.
From the beginning of 2025, there have been 38 reports of drugs found in cells at the jail, while there have been 83 reports of drugs found during the booking process.
