WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A young woman is dead after being struck by a train in eastern Kansas Saturday afternoon.
It happened just after 3 p.m. at the intersection of Commercial Street and 7th Street in Altoona.
Pedestrian critically injured in Wichita crash
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the train was traveling north while the pedestrian was walking west on 7th Street when she stepped in front of the train. It is believed that she did not see or hear the approaching train.
