WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – An intended donation created an unexpected mess for a Wichita nonprofit.
Passageways Outreach Center, which supports veterans experiencing homelessness, says someone dropped off furniture overnight in the rain. Even before it got soaked, the items were shredded, stained, and not in the kind of condition the organization can offer to the veterans it serves.
The nonprofit is reminding the community to donate only gently used items in good condition and to drop them off when staff are present.
“I was absolutely furious when I looked outside,” Jennifer Garrison, the co-founder of Passageways, said. “Our Veterans do not deserve to have something like this dumped off.”…
