Wichita police make two arrests in separate Thanksgiving Day stabbings

Two men suffered serious injuries early on Thanksgiving morning after being stabbed in separate incidents. Wichita police have since arrested two men on suspicion of aggravated battery.

The first stabbing was reported around 2:30 a.m. Wichita police were called to a home disturbance in the 8400 block of East Harry where two men believed to be known to each other were fighting, Wichita police spokesperson Andrew Ford said. One of the individuals, a 58-year-old man, was stabbed, according to Sedgwick County Emergency Communications 911 scanner traffic. Scanner traffic is preliminary and subject to change.

The man was hospitalized in critical condition but is expected to recover. Police arrested and booked a suspect the same day on suspicion of aggravated battery. The Wichita Eagle does not name suspects until they have been formally charged…
