WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A city in north-central Kansas has begun improvements to its water treatment system, and it’s getting some help from the state and federal governments.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the Environmental Protection Agency provided funding for a loan for Beloit’s new water treatment plant, transmission main and raw water pump station. Beloit is about 65 miles northwest of Salina.

The city is receiving an $11.4 million loan, of which more than $2.5 million will be forgiven.
