Auto theft leaves Cadillac and man in a ditch near southeast Wichita gas station

Wichita police are investigating an early-morning auto theft that ended with a wrecked Cadillac and a trip to the hospital for a man found injured nearby in a roadside ditch.

Just before 4 a.m. Thursday, police responded to an auto theft in the 1600 block of South Oliver, near the intersection’s QuikTrip. The victim had entered a nearby business and left her vehicle running with the keys in the ignition, Wichita Police Department Public Information Officer Brad Wright said.

Once on the scene, officers found a wrecked 2007 Cadillac in a nearby ditch, Wright wrote in an email to The Eagle. They also found a 32-year-old man with visible injuries. He was taken to a hospital for care…
