‘I just really wanted to help’: Wichita high schoolers build beds for families in need

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – High school students from across Wichita gathered at East High School on Saturday to build beds that will be distributed to families over the holidays.

The students worked all morning building the beds from scratch to help the non-profit Sleep in Heavenly Peace. From staining wood planks to drilling, sanding and branding the wood, the students handled every part of the process.

Some of the kids shared that building the beds was educational, but they were really in it to help their community…
