CALDWELL — Police are investigating after three suspicious devices were found Saturday morning at separate locations within Caldwell, prompting road closures and a multi-agency response that included the Wichita Police Bomb Squad and federal authorities.
Caldwell officers were first called at about 8:33 a.m. Dec. 6 to the 100 block of South Main Avenue for a report of an unknown device. Police shut down nearby streets as a precaution while emergency crews evaluated the scene.
Because the device had the potential to be explosive, the Caldwell Police Department requested assistance from multiple agencies. Bomb technicians with Wichita Police assessed the device on South Main and safely neutralized it so it could be collected for forensic examination…
