DERBY, Kan. (KWCH) – The Derby School Board is considering a new policy recommendation which would ban employees from fundraising for classrooms, or identifying themselves as district employees during fundraisers.
The recommendation is from the Kansas Association of School Boards and could impact how teachers raise funds for classroom supplies.
The policy looks to clarify existing standards and says in part, school employees can fundraise online for personal reasons outside of work, but they cannot act on behalf of the district, identify themselves as employees, or suggest the campaign benefits students, classrooms or the school…
