WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A Wichita nonprofit is launching a new vision program aimed at making glasses more accessible for Kansans.
Thanks to donations from the Wallace Foundation and the Lewis H. Humphreys Charitable Trust, Cairn Health purchased equipment that can produce some glasses on-site in about 10 minutes. Bifocals will take a few days.
The glasses will cost between $40 and $60. Customers simply need to send in their prescription and choose their frames.
“I had a woman come in whose glasses were broken in the middle, and she was like, ‘I have fallen three or four times today just because my line and my vertigo is off,’ and she left here with a brand new pair of glasses,” said Amber Beck, Cairn’s executive director…
