Widow of Wichita man killed in crash speaks out on new charges against driver

LIBERTY, Mo. (WDAF) — A man already on probation for a deadly hit-and-run crash outside Arrowhead Stadium was in court in Clay County on Thursday on new charges stemming from a November police chase.

Thomas J. Weyer, 23, now faces two counts of armed criminal action, first-degree assault of a law enforcement officer, unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated fleeing from a law enforcement officer.

The new charges stem from a Nov. 16 multicounty chase that started in Liberty and ended at Cleveland Avenue and 41st Street in Kansas City.

Court documents obtained by WDAF say Weyer was driving a 2010 Nissan Altima during the chase, and at one point, one of the four people in the car fired shots at a Missouri State Highway Patrol car. No officers were hurt…
