Kan. deputy charged with hitting handcuffed man goes to court

SEDGWICK COUNTY — A Kansas sheriff’s deputy charged with battery for striking a handcuffed man at a Wichita hospital will be in court on Monday.

Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Deputy Brett Anderson is scheduled to make a first appearance in the case in Judge Chrystal Krier’s courtroom, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s office.
