WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – McConnell Air Force Base will conduct several drills on Tuesday and Wednesday to test the preparedness of the Airmen.
At noon on Tuesday, the base’s tornado sirens will sound for five minutes, and on Wednesday, a limited active shooter drill will take place.
Other exercises will include the following:
- “Giant Voice” loudspeakers may be activated
- Emergency response vehicles will move around the base
- Security measures may be increased
- Telephonic and electronic notification methods will be utilized
The Air Force requires each base to practice its response to evaluate training and maintain overall readiness.
