Flight 5342: Government admits helicopter pilot errors caused deadly crash

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The federal government has admitted that it was at fault in a midair collision that killed everyone on board a flight from Wichita.

NewsNation reported Wednesday that the government acknowledged in a legal filing that failures by Army helicopter pilots led to the crash.

“The United States admits that it owed a duty of care to Plaintiffs, which it breached, thereby proximately causing the tragic accident,” the filing says.
