Driver seriously injured, four students also hurt in Wichita school bus crash

A bus driver and four Wichita students were injured in an east Wichita crash involving a school bus on Wednesday afternoon.

The accident happened on Edgemoor, just south of Kellogg, around 2:40 p.m. It involved an Early College Academy bus with four students and two adults on board, Wichita Public Schools Strategic Communications Supervisor Susan Arensman said in an email to The Eagle.

The 53-year-old bus driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital, Wichita Police Captain Aaron Moses confirmed. The driver is expected to recover.
