A Wichita woman was convicted Friday of one count of second-degree intentional murder for killing her boyfriend on his birthday last year, the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office said.
Amunique Cavitt, 21, was tried by a jury in Sedgwick County District Court this week for the April 23, 2024, shooting death of 33-year-old Norman E. Carter III of Wichita. She is scheduled for sentencing on Feb. 13, district attorney spokeswoman Lyndsee Stover said.
Cavitt shot Carter multiple times shortly after noon on his birthday in the 1400 block of North Minnesota, near 13th and Grove.
